Whaddup doe? My name is Iman. I'm a pharmacist, a crochet designer, a painter, a belly dancer, a Grease Dealer - a multi-faceted shawty out here, ya digg?

I'm originally from California, growing up between the city of Palmdale and the Leimert Park area of Los Angeles. I've also lived in Texas, Connecticut, New York (BX, yerrr) and New Jersey. 

After high school, I graduated from an HBCU by the name of Wiley College in Marshall, TX where I majored in Biology and minored in Chemistry. I came back to California and worked for Long Beach Unified School District. While I was there, I continued to perfect my crochet skills, making bikinis, crop tops, shorts, etc. I used to walk around Leimert Park just chilling, talking to people, making connections, and selling my crochet items. 

I decided to go to pharmacy school after a trip to Aba, Abia State, Nigeria in which I attended a medical mission with a group called NACENA. I was in the pharmacy department and decided I would come back stateside and start on my journey to becoming a pharmacist. I applied to pharmacy school in Hartford, Connecticut and this is where I graduated and received my Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree.

Fast forward to present day, I'm now a registered pharmacist living between Connecticut and California. I started making body butter while visiting home (Cali) and looking for lotion in the department store. I couldn't find anything that I felt comfortable using on my skin (due to sketchy ingredient lists) and decided to make my own moisturizer instead.

This is how Gangsta Grease was born. The name came from my dad.

I did my first pop ups at my friends' farmer's market called "Run It Markets" in Berlin, CT as well as pop ups in the Brownsville and Bushwick areas of Brooklyn, NYC and also Harlem. I've sold Grease on "The Ave" in Hartford (IYKYK), and in Lancaster as well as various parts of Los Angeles, CA. 

I am now dedicated to making Gangsta Grease a household name, knocking ash out of the streets. Fighting for the people.
